Our Camshafts meet and exceed OEM Specifications for lobe lift, contour, base circle run out, R.M.S. finish and hardness. 

Our intricate remanufacturing process includes the following:

All camshafts are cleaned internally and externally. The cleaning process is critical as the camshaft oil passages that lead through the internal part of the shaft must be as clean as the external part of the cam. 

The Camshaft then gets the initial inspection which includes checking for cracks, lobe lift, Journal sizing and hardness checks.

The camshaft is then checked for straightness and straightened, centered and re-threaded accordingly.

If the camshaft has a bad lobe or main journal we undercut the bad area and weld the lobe or main. We have different welding materials that are used depending on the OEM material and hardness. We have almost 50 years of engineering behind us to ensure we use the proper materials and procedures. We are so adept at this process that people from all over the world including leading manufacturers have come to our facility to educate themselves on our process. And all have came away not only impressed but have become life long customers.

The next part of the job is to remanufacture/grind the lobes, run an in depth hardness test, polish the lobes and then for cast iron camshafts get parkerized. Steel billet camshafts get the lobes and mains polished. We then lubricate (rust preventative), package and ship.
